Our ranch is located halfway between the Pacific Coast in the Rocky Mountains, on the shores of Glimpse Lake. It lies amid large cattle ranches is surrounded by untouched forests, gently rolling hills and boundless prairies. This is the home of the bear and beaver, of the puma, the elk and the moose. The silence of the wilderness is only broken by the cry of the loon, the beating of an eagles wings or the splash of jumping rainbow trout. At last, you can experience the peace you long for in harmony with yourself and with nature.
We have lovingly restored the historical ranch house in period style. Together with the main house, there is an old windmill, the bunkhouse and other original outhouses that form the heart of an authentic ranch, and perhaps one you would normally only see in Western movies. The indoor pool, hot tub and steam room, all in charming, rustic settings, are each an oasis for mental and physical relaxation and well-being.
During the most beautiful months of the year, we welcome a small number of guests and spoil them with the help of our much-decorated chef, and the handpicked crew. We ride on horseback to drive together to getting Spot, enjoy barbecues with country dancing or visit local rodeos and Indian powwows.
Even those not really experienced with horseback riding soon gain confidence -- either immediately, thanks to the professionally schooled good-natured quarter horses -- or at the latest following the demonstration of Alex's type of natural horsemanship in the paddock. Very quickly, you'll be longing to discover the call the wild, on horseback.
Individual rides through the nearby, unspoiled forests and flowers strewn Meadows, along the banks of secluded lakes, were passed large herds of wild horses, are unforgettable experience. Sometimes, we moved house, read and take part in cattle drive, like real cowboys, becoming a genuine part of the Wild West adventure with its spirit of freedom.
As well as riding, you can try your luck at fishing, take the canoe a rowboat, enjoy refreshing swim, discover the nearby area on a mountain bike or simply relax on the large decks of our guest lodges, watching the world go by. Fiercely disputed competitions, often take place on our two badminton courts and volleyball. Or why not visit our neighbors by car or by floatplane -- the largest cattle ranch in North America -- or the neighboring wine region of the Okanagan Valley? Whether you love to ride on horseback or just need peace, relaxation and freedom, activities on our ranch can be tailored to suit your individual needs.
The spacious log cabins, rebuilt in the traditional round log style and offering the very highest level of comfort and facilities, are all located directly on the shores of the Lake, with their own boat landing. The master suites, not only have their own fireplace, but also Jacuzzis and steam rooms.
If our small 'photo album' has inspired you to discover more of this glimpse of freedom and adventure, the myth of cowboy life, the wide-open spaces and big, big sky, then we be delighted to help you make your dream come true.
Your hosts, Alex & Helene Schuetz
