The climate is very dry with warm summers and cold winters and normally a beautiful Indian Summer that can begin mid September and last to the beginning of November. Average temperatures range from the mid 70s (F) to the low 90s (F) in summer and from around 30 (F) to 5 (F) in the winter. Average snowfall in winter is 2-3 feet. The lake is generally frozen solid from around mid December to late March.
